What type of assistance do you provide?
Helping Veterans provides assistance to veterans and their families in an effort to reduce unemployment and prevent homelessness. This is accomplished by working within our communities to increase the coordination of access to benefits, health and wellness, and employment opportunities to transitioning veterans. Who do you provide assistance to?
Helping Veterans provides assistance to transitioning and at-risk Veterans that meet any of the following requirements:
Discharged from any branch of service (verification will be required for assistance) with anything other than a dishonorable discharge.
Been injured as a result of service and within one year of medical separation.
Participating in an approved VA based care and seeking a path to education or employment as part of transition out of the military.
How can I volunteer with HV?
Volunteers are the heartbeat to our organization, and we provide flexible programs that appeal to people from all walks of life. We have a place for you regardless of your schedule or interest(s). What types of donations do you accept?
All donations are greatly appreciated and accepted -- we accept cash, land, labor, services, materials, stocks, properties and mutual funds. To donate, please go to our donation page for one-time and monthly giving options through PayPal.
Donations collected from fundraising efforts will be utilized but not limited to:
Adaptive grants to qualifying Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses that create workable ways for veterans to earn a living after military service.
Emergency grants to qualifying veterans and their families that can be applied to (i.e., utilities, repair, mortgage/rent payment) in an effort to prevent homelessness.
Is HV a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization?
Helping Veterans is a nonprofit veteran service organization and your donation is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (c)(3). EIN: 45-4711704
